The demand for shark fins, driven by cultural practices and the luxury food market, has resulted in devastating consequences for shark populations worldwide. China's vast market has fueled the relentless hunting of sharks, pushing many species to the brink of extinction. By exposing the harsh reality behind the shark fin trade, we can inspire change. It's essential to educate people about the environmental impact and the inhumane methods used to obtain shark fins. In March, I visited Tanjung Luar, a place on the island of Lombok, where I document the trade and the scale of the shark slaughter.
